Oct 08THE QUEEN OF GREY GARDENS

I have already brought up astrology today, and posted a photo of an “eccentric” [I hate that word], that I felt motivated to mention this lovely spread of Little Edie Beale of Grey Gardens. Looking absolutely regal in September Vogue Italia, these old photos allow us to dive further into the life of the staunch character we all know and love as Little Edie. She looks absolutely stunning.
I cannot wait to get Edith Bouvier Beale of Grey Gardens: A Life in Pictures for Christmas.
More photos after the break

I think the word “eccentric” is fit to use by people who have never read a really good book. And I am a big fan of Grey Gardens, thanks for posting!
if I had that outfit with the crown and dress, i would wear it EVERY DAY! i love it so
i love the top photo.
I watched the movie made for tv grey gardens and was fasinated with ,after seeing the movie of the real people, how much the actresses looked like the beale women.
it is so sad to think that little eddie gave her whole life for her mother and her selfish ways to keep eddie a prisoner in her mother’s house. i do believe she could have made her way as a star if only she had the chance to be able to be a free person. instead she was a servant, cook and chief botttle washer. she must have given up and just accepted her lot in life. i am glad that she was able to escape from that house and lived a few years and did what she wanted to do. it must have taken a lot of courage to go back to the world after living so isolated for so many years.
