Nov 08UNFEATHERED DITA

Dita Von Teese was once an unlikely character for me to pay any attention to. Not because of her fondness for stripping, being nude, and for saying “I Do” to Marilyn Manson, but because I have never found “pin-ups” alluring, much less have I appreciated their fashion. This probably stems from annoying rockabilly folk in high school swooning over Betty Page, listening to Social Distortion, and wearing creepers. I have realized Dita is miles away from those kids and their leopard bandannas, but I am sure they love her nonetheless.
What draws me to Dita Von Teese is her charming personality, her affinity for couture, and the fact that she claims tradition as one her foundations all the while exposing her female form. I absolutely adore women who combine many worlds into their personae and without apology. Harper’s Bazaar ran a feature [read here] on Dita Von Teese last year which not only showcased her integrity, but completely warmed my heart to her.
Dita graces the most recent cover of German Playboy, and I have included my favorite photos from the spread [behind the cut]. To see the whole spread, you can visit a not-so-classy site called F-Listed. Obviously, they are NSFW as they include full frontal nudity.
I hope the Fashion Intel can help people [especially Americans] just a little to get over their fear/ignorance of the female body and sexuality. Just maybe we can open a discourse on tasteful pornography.

Ive always been a huge DITA fan… Ive always had thing for Burlesque and Pin-ups too… Hmmm…. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
I knew you would be, as I remember some of your girlfriends in high school! But Dita is truly special and I hope to see her perform some day. I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving!
My Dream is to see one of her shows!
