Dec 09FROM HERE TO THERE

I’ve never seen so many great tights in one room. Last night I was a guest at the From Here to There holiday party hosted by the lovely Stefani Greenwood and Serge Monkewitz . Delicious food, superb music and amazing people. I’m glad I had my camera with me because the ladies were wearing some gorgeous tights in addition to their already incredible shoes. From the Dr. Marten throwbacks, to the fuschia suede heels, this group knew how to dress for a soiree.
I wish you could see my entire outfit! I wore an early nineties crushed velvet dress from the GAP paired with some American Apparel black tights and Aldo shoes (pictured above). Add a faux fur jacket and beanie and you’re practically on the set of Beverly Hills 90120. This is where all my inspiration stems from these days as I’ve been watching season 1 on the Soap Network.
ahhh! i love first photo, great post:)

Thanks Raez! I’m a big fan of your blog btw. You’re makeup is always amazing. Thanks for reading.
I love those high doc martins. So cute with the tights.

The girl wearing them is super cute too! I wish you could see her face. She had the best tights of the night by far.
Yeah! Get me them purple pumps.
Oh David, you slay me!
Augh! This post has resurfaced my desperation for knee-high docs!! x
90s here we come!
you like real fur too though right?
I am so conflicted with this. Soooooo conflicted! In fact, I’ve been wanting to write an article about it.
I do like real fur. Will I buy it? Probably not. There was an amazing Phillip Lim blazer with a fur collar that I loved to pieces, but I just couldn’t bring myself to buy it. After being a vegetarian in the early 2000s and learning about how the animals are treated, it is so hard for me to fiscally support such acts. Vintage fur? Now that could be another story.
Hmmmm I have a cool hoodie that is lined inside with Rabbit fur! I love it so much! Its actually 2 sided.
The poor bunnies!
Natalie:
My wife used to have a number of fur coats. She always felt it was okay to wear fur because “they were dead when I bought them”. If you wear makeup you are probably wearing a by-product of fur farming as the oils from many fur bearing animals are used in cosmetic products.
Hello Dennis!
Thank you for your comment and reading Fashion Intel. Fur and the consequences of wearing fur is a frequent discourse with myself and friends. I do choose to wear faux fur but I cannot deny my attraction to the real thing.
It is awful the kinds of ingredients they use in makeup, for this reason, I am constantly seeking out cruelty-free, organic, and sustainable products. I don’t think many people are aware of the nasty things they’re putting on and in their body. We’ve got to do everything we can to make our lives and the lives of others better!
