It is almost Halloween and needless to say the anticipation is growing. I’ve had a lot of friends ask me for Halloween costume suggestions so I thought I’d share an easy yet credible suggestion.
Go as Sally Bowles (Liza Minnelli) from Cabaret. It is a classic; it is sexy without looking like you are one of those girls desparately trying to look “sexy” and will show everone you know a thing or two about film.
Trust me. You can pull it off! Now I’m off to San Francisco.

Oh sweet Liza! I found this adorable photo of Liza Minnelli in C Magazine. The description is as follows:
“Tony Duquette created this playhouse with its ermine tail spots, balustrades and painted urns in 1949 as a gift for his goddaughter, Liza Minnelli. Duquette and Liza’s father, Vincente Minnelli, were best friends. Duquette had created costumes and sets for several films at MGM for Minnelli and their producer, Arthur Freed, including Yolanda and The Thief and Ziegfeld Follies, and would later go on to create costumes and sets for other Minnelli films.”
Liza’s playhouse looks like the perfect location for an intimate Halloween party – ok, it probably isn’t large enough but fabulous nonetheless. If you are still looking for the perfect costume, go as Sally Bowels from Cabaret. Surely you could do black saucer eyes and extravagant eyelashes.
