Why I love this editorial:
1. It is most likely considered sacrilegious to Christians, particularly Catholics.
2. I lust for gaped teeth.
3. Lara Stone is the self-proclaimed “fat one” though she doesn’t want to be anymore.
4. Breast grabbing.
5. It looks like Lara is having an orgasm in the last photo.
6. Styled by Carine Roitfeld, who still manages to either subversive, offensive and/or both.
7. The jewelry is pretty cool too.

This is my favorite Paris Vogue fashion spread of all time. It is a couple years old and any chance I get to use it, I do. I’m convinced Carine Roitfeld is into magic, the Occult, or all of the above. Just take a look at her wearing this pentagram necklace.
Halloween is tomorrow and I’m sad the month of October is almost over. I’ll miss talking about Halloween costumes, baking scary cupcakes, and trying to get all my friends to sacrifice goats – just kidding.
P.S. I hope to post some costumes photos tomorrow, we’ll see.

If I were to assemble a super group of celebrity best friends Julia Restoin-Roitfeld would be one of the first on my list. Julia looks absolutely stunning in the April issue of British Harper’s Bazaar but I don’t expect anything less from a girl whose mother is Carine Roitfeld. Great genes? Yes.
I have noticed all over the internet young women celebrating Julia for her not-so-typical model body and it is refreshing seeing another type of beauty represented in magazines. A brunette with ample breasts, thighs and hips – not the typical fashion plate, but then again I’ve never cared for “typical.” I am just dying over these ethereal photos. Who said fashion photography wasn’t legit?

I support animal rights but when you begin ripping the sleeves off Balenciaga dresses that is where I draw the line! Accounts of the the aforementioned incident are as such: a crazed PETA protester lunged at Carine Roitfeld outside of Jean Paul Gaultier and ripped the sleeve off her dress. Apparently PETA was rather bothered by the lilac goat hair coat Carine was seen sporting this weekend and felt that she needed to learn a lesson. In proper Carine style she replied to the media’s coverage by saying “I am a fashion martyr now.”
This Fall, great shoes are lining stores from Third Street to the Glendale Galleria. I truly cannot believe how many marvelously stylish shoes are out there right now, and plenty under $200. [Don't get me started on the $695 Dries Van Noten's I am keeping my eye on.] I picked these up over the weekend, and I couldn’t help think of a conversation a friend and I had about our love of the marriage of black and brown. Keep them coming!
One of the things I keep in mind when I go shopping is WWCD – What would Carine [Roitfeld] do? When I have this mantra, it is easy to steer clear from shoe disasters and regretable unflattering skirts. She has consisitently worn the best shoes in the world and always before you see them on anyone else. Yes, she has the benefit of being the editor of Paris Vogue, but she never gets it wrong. Thank you for your non-stop inspiration Carine.
Leave it to Carine Roitfeld to put the F U in Fur in the August issue of VOGUE Paris. Model Raquel Zimmermann, styled by Roitfeld, is seen getting into all sorts of trouble draped in this Fall’s must have furs. Whether she is hitting an activist with her purse or simply saying fuck you with her finger, she looks as if she could care less about what PETA has to say. Apparently so does Carine, as she will undoubtedly be added to their hit list.
Whether you are a fur lover, a paint thrower, or simply indifferent, you have to give it up to a magazine that can have a sense of humor. If you don’t agree, maybe you can appreciate the great photography of Mario Testino as he shot these fur filled pages. Either way, this is one of the reasons Carine Roitfeld and Paris Vogue are tops on my style radar.
