Floral Arrangement, Michelle Obama

This has been an exciting week for the democrats, as the DNC has been going well and the speeches have been right on the mark. I already had an idea of what would be said and how the crowd would cheer, so I would have to say the thing I had been looking forward to the most was listening to Michelle Obama, and seeing how fabulous she looked.

Day 3 has proven to be Michelle’s best DNC fashion moment, if you can believe that with all the lovely ensembles she has sported these past couple days. She looks absolutely stunning, and I always fall over for florals. Who made this dress – Could it be her favorite local designer Maria Pinto, who got a great write up in the New York Times last week?

Le Fleur Jardin

Fleurs

This week I managed to visit the lovely Descanso Gardens. The smell of the landscape inspired me to live in a rose bush and dress up in petal dresses. Maybe one day you’ll find me living in flower utopia, but until then you will see me wearing florals of all sorts this season.

Each Spring/Summer we can depend on designers saying “florals are in”, but why do we give in year after year? I suspect the answer is that florals are enchanting, to say the least. I much rather choose this look over the ubiquitous safari garb. Blase. Look to nature for inspiration, as you will find the flowers, bees, and grass lead quite the dramatic life.
