Black, White, & Hot Pink All Over

One of our favorite sites, Jezebel.com, posted Target’s new Go International look book yesterday – unfortunately we couldn’t see it because there was a problem with the server. We did what any fashion intel would do and found the look book images in Target’s “pressroom.” You can view the entire look book here.

One of the pieces definitely caught my eye, not only because it has one my favorite designs – houndstooth – but because the outfit’s look reminded be of a Marc by Marc Jacobs sack I’ve been seeing around. If you think you’ll be wearing black, white, and hot pink this winter, I say go for the Georgette Ruffle Top in Black/White Houndstooth, $29.99 & Corduroy Pencil Skirt in Black/White Houndstooth, $26.99 paired with some hot pink tights. If you can swing a little bit more, buy the MBMJ Printed Big Tote for $170.

I'll Have the Chai, please

Richard Chai for Target has been all over the web this week, and it didn’t take me long to pick which items I know will be coming home with me.  Can you say Purple People Eater?  Purple is such a difficult color and I respect those who can pull it off.  Sometimes I think if Vera Wang can do it, then so can I!  But then again, Vera is always draped in diamonds and furs, and my closet is certainly not packed with those accouterments.

My definite picks are Long Cardigan in Indigo ($39.99), Colorblock Tie Dress in Gray/Purple ($44.99) and the Cotton Canvas Trench Coat in Plaid Print ($44.99).  You can check the rest of the collection here, and read a bio on Chai if you already didn’t have him in your designers to love file.

Right on Target

The fashion intelligentsia loves good design under $50, though you often find us swooning over $1500 Balenciaga bags at Barneys – that bag will be mine! We always wait with anticipation to hear who’s next for Go International (Upcoming is Richard Chai), and we are happy that during the designer interim we are given another option, something better than anything else you can find on the Target racks.

Here are our picks for the next GO INTERNATIONAL capsule. We are absolutely drooling over that Tiered Ruffle Dress in Floral Print ($39.99), and wouldn’t mind adding the Multi-Layer Ruffle Skirt in Black with White Trim ($29.99) and the Button-Front Ruffle Dress in Navy ($29.99) to our closet.

See more looks at the TARGET press room.

Fashion Doppelgänger: Rogan for Target & F21

As much as my boyfriend cringes at the sight of animal print, as I am sure many of you do, I cannot get enough of chic leopard. There is something about the very gaudy that attracts me. That is the reason I cannot stop buying gold! Maybe my influence comes from my riot grrrl days of Doc Martens, fishnets and leopard or my former love for Gwen Stefani. Whatever the case, this urge hasn’t vanished in my twenties and who knows if it ever will. I might end up like my 70+ year old red-headed friend named Susan Allen who only wears cheetah print and orange. Probably not, but she’s so amazing I had to mention her.

Target brought us the glory of Gregory Rogan these past few months, and the response has been huge. Rogan for Target has by far been the best Go International collection ever produced. Plus, the dress is still on sale for $39.99. It is no surprise that Forever 21 has tried to capitalize on this fabulous collection, by producing their own Safari Tunic. Definitely a doppelgänger. Animal print surely holds no copyright, but if you’re going to chose between the two, opt for Rogan’s environmentally-conscious silk dress.

We came, we saw: Rogan for Target at Barneys (BH)

Rogan for Target at Barneys

As many other blogs will have you believe, Rogan for Target at Barneys (BH) was crazy! I wouldn’t exactly say that. There was a decent sized (20) group of girls/ladies but no one was elbowing their way to a rack full of dresses. In fact, unlike Kate Moss for Top Shop at Barneys, there seemed to be many items to go around. Customers weren’t frantic for the last burlap skirt – there were 40 of them! This made our shopping experience much more pleasant.

Unlike any other GO INTERNATIONAL capsules before this, Rogan had a unique quality rarely found at Target. My two favorite dresses (pictured) feel absolutely lovely on the skin, and I would highly recommend them to the girl who isn’t afraid of the often too dangerous to wear, animal print. Plus, if you stop by Barneys these next 3 days you might leave with a complimentary eco-chic Rogan tote as I did. (more photos after the jump)

Rogan for Target at Barneys! Oh my!

RoganThe fashion intelligentsia cannot believe they are posting back to back Target stories, but as you know there is no shortage of fashion news.

We were overjoyed when we first heard the announcement of Rogan as the next Go International designer.  We were shocked when we read reports that Barneys wanted to carry the collection in support of of their dear friend Rogan.  That’s right, you will now be shopping for Target clothes at Barneys.  Interesting side note – when my boyfriend and I waited to get our hands on Kate Moss for Topshop, he made a prediction that one day we’d be buying Target from this store.  Psychic?

Barneys will be carrying the collection for a mere 5 days, so if you want to the preview the merchandise, it will arrive in New York and Los Angeles on May 8 and 15.  For those of you who have to wait, don’t worry, we’ll let you know how it is.  With photos of course.
