As much as I love fashion and reading the 2379856314 blogs that are out there, I easily tire of the same old images of white/blonde models showing their boobs through a sheer tank top. Know what I’m talking about? I mean, how many times do we need to see a naked photo of Kate Moss, Sasha Pivovarova in a forrest or Daria Werbowy jumping at the beach?
When I came across this editorial entitled “Arabian Nights” in the April issue of Russian Harper’s Bazaar I was really struck by the model’s (Erin O’Connor?) face and the styling of the clothes/turban. Though already an established model, Erin undeniably stands out from her peers. I have what people consider an “ethnic” nose (I cringe when people use that as an adjective, explanation here) so I definitely appreciate it when I see a model’s whose nose is larger than a button. Throw in some thick brows and voluptuous lips (oh, they did!) and I’m starting to see some representation.
Lastly, can we please give it up to the turban, fabrics and jewelry here? So, are you into it or what?
