While perusing the magazine stand at Vroman’s over the weekend, I found myself compelled by these images of Freja in the August issue of Vogue Paris. She looks tough, sexy, and ready to take charge. Who doesn’t love a woman with a megaphone?
What do you think she’s saying?

When I saw these images today on The Fashion Spot, I squealed with a perverse delight; its as if these editorials are falling into my lap. I have a feeling Carine Roitfeld and I would be great chums if these are the types of things going on in her mind. Strangled with inner tube while having your ear licked? Why yes please. Oh America, why are your fashion magazines so utterly drab and lacking nudity? Sweet Vogue Paris, if it weren’t for you and your European counterparts, I’d have only Taboo to satiate my chic leather desires.
Doesn’t that first photo remind you of the wheelbarrel race you played as a kid?
More after the break (definitely NSFW)

Why I love this editorial:
1. It is most likely considered sacrilegious to Christians, particularly Catholics.
2. I lust for gaped teeth.
3. Lara Stone is the self-proclaimed “fat one” though she doesn’t want to be anymore.
4. Breast grabbing.
5. It looks like Lara is having an orgasm in the last photo.
6. Styled by Carine Roitfeld, who still manages to either subversive, offensive and/or both.
7. The jewelry is pretty cool too.

Leave it to Carine Roitfeld to put the F U in Fur in the August issue of VOGUE Paris. Model Raquel Zimmermann, styled by Roitfeld, is seen getting into all sorts of trouble draped in this Fall’s must have furs. Whether she is hitting an activist with her purse or simply saying fuck you with her finger, she looks as if she could care less about what PETA has to say. Apparently so does Carine, as she will undoubtedly be added to their hit list.
Whether you are a fur lover, a paint thrower, or simply indifferent, you have to give it up to a magazine that can have a sense of humor. If you don’t agree, maybe you can appreciate the great photography of Mario Testino as he shot these fur filled pages. Either way, this is one of the reasons Carine Roitfeld and Paris Vogue are tops on my style radar.
